A Lot of Sorrow six-hour screening

Do you know the feeling, when your lover has disappreared from your life and you are cut to the quick by the melancholic refrain of a pop song?

“Sorrow found me when I was young. Sorrow waited, sorrow won. ‘Cause I don’t wanna get over you. I don’t wanna get over you.” – The National

In 2013 Icelandic artist Ragnar Kjartansson invited The National to performe their 3:25 minute song “Sorrow” over and over again for six hours at MoMA PS1, New York.

Now, CC and CPH PIX invite you to a six-hour screening of Kjartansson’s video installation, which will let you reexperience the endurance of the original performance. Please bring a cushion, blankets and hankerchiefs for this special sunday event. The ticketprice is 50 DKK and access to CC’s exhibitions is included. Tickets can be purchased at the door.

The doors open at 11 o’clock. The event begins at 11.15 with an introduction to the video-installation, followed by the film screening from 11.30 to 17.39. During these six hours, CC and CPH PIX will provide refreshments corresponding to the shifting feelings surging through both band and audience over the course of the performance.

Great thanks are due to Ørestad Gymnasium for their loan of Fatboy bean bags.
