CC Art Talk & Book Launch 15:00–18:00
On Saturday 29 June, CC invites you to attend an Art Talk with the Swiss artist Claudia Comte to be followed by the presentation of the exhibition catalogue accompanying Comte’s installation I Have Grown Taller from Standing with Trees.
The talk takes place in Claudia Comte’s exhibition I Have Grown Taller from Standing with Trees which, on this day, can be experienced free of charge between 15.00 and 16.00. The presentation of the exhibition catalogue will take place immediately after the talk, and you can buy wine by the glass from Vinhanen.
In this version of the CC Art Talk, Comte will be joined by Jannie Haagemann, senior curator, to explain aspects of the exhibition inspired by her close affinity with the forest, the pivotal point of the installation. Comte’s special fascination with the forest goes back to her childhood in the Swiss countryside. Hence her practice is fuelled by a serious concern for the state of forests and the planet as a whole and she is deeply engaged with various environmental initiatives such as improving conditions for orangutans in Sumatra and making sustainable forestry more widespread.
In connection with Claudia Comte’s exhibition at CC, a catalogue is published, providing different perspectives on the exhibition. The catalogue includes texts written by Jannie Haagemann, Chief Curator, CC, Gabriella Beckhurst, Art Historian, Ulf Buentgen, Environmental Scientist, as well as selected poems by Danish and international poets: Julie Sten-Knudsen, Lone Hørslev, Daisy Lafarge, and Tamarack Song. The catalogue contains a wealth of illustrative photos from the exhibition, including some taken by visitors. On the day of the launch, the catalogue can be purchased at the special price of DKK 225.
