Culture Night 18:00–00:00

Exhibtions, children's workshop, Hôy la & BRUS-bar

Come to Culture Night, where you can explore CC’s exhibitions by Doug Aitken and SUPERFLEX until midnight. This evening you can also build your own swing in the CC STUDIO children’s workshop, experience an electronic concert with Norwegian Hôy la, and BRUS is in the bar.

18-00: Exhibitions and BRUS bar
18-19: Build your own swing
19-20: Build your own swing
20-21: Build your own swing
22-22.45: Hôy La

At CC, you can swing in SUPERFLEX’ exhibition ‘One Two Three Swing!’. For the Culture Night event, CC STUDIO opens a swing workshop where you can design and build your own swing.

We have wood, rope, string, fabric, and the tools you need.
You decide how you want your swing to look and we will help you if necessary. You can take it home with you afterwards or, together, we can walk across to our neighbour, Reffen Food Market, and hang your swing there among food stalls that serve food from the whole world.

Before going into the workshop, we will visit the exhibition ‘One Two Three Swing!’ for a collective swing on SUPERFLEX’ specially designed swings.

Groups will start in the swing workshop at these times: 6 p.m., 7 p.m., and 8 p.m. There is room for 15 children in each group.
Sign up for one of the groups (with your parents) by visiting billetto here.

We look forward to seeing you – and building a swing together with you!

Norwegian artist Hôy La (Ingri Høyland Kvamstad) performs along the border between the acoustic and the electronic. Mixing live loops organically in order to build a backdrop for emotionally rich vocals Hôy la plays experimentally with her classically enchanting vocals. Hôy La’s newest single ”Please” has received great attention from Noisey, Jajaja Music, Indieshuffle, Popmani, and The Most Radicalist among others.

An orange line of swings weaves through SUPERFLEX’ large-scale installation One Two Three Swing! Where swings are normally made for individual use, SUPERFLEX’ swings are designed for three people to swing together. One Two Three Swing! is both an aesthetic and a conceptual installation engaging with the power of play and the collaborative entities people can create together.

SONG 1 is a 35-minute-long sound and video installation created by artist Doug Aitken. Within the framework of a pop song, the classic “I Only Have Eyes for You,” Aitken has created a compelling and spatial video work reflecting present day urban landscapes that reference the cultural history of modernity. The artwork is a rhythmic flow of video clips that are projected onto a large circular screen. This is an immersive artwork for the viewer, one that the audience can both walk around as well as step into.

BRUS is joining Copenhagen Contemporary with a pop-up bar that serves fresh beers on Culture Night. BRUS is a brewpub, bar, brewery & bottleshop by To Øl located in Nørrebro. At BRUS, To Øl is brewing quality craft beers in the To Øl CPH name and for the Culture Night bar at CC, the BRUS bar will be pouring a nice range of these to the crowd.

The admission ticket to CC on this special evening is a Culture Pass, available at DKK 95.00 in 7-Eleven shops and at libraries in the Copenhagen area. Children aged 12 or under get a free Children’s Pass.
