Warm-up Opening 16:00–18:00

Carsten Nicolai
Yoko Ono
Pettersen & Hein

Join us when Copenhagen Contemporary (CC) opens the doors to one of the two halls on Paper Island. As an appetizer for the exhibition programme, on that day and throughout the course of the summer, you can experience the German artist and musician Carsten Nicolai’s 30-metre-long audio and light installation unidisplay, while the other hall is being refurbished for the major opening on 25 August.

Come along too and help inaugurate the new outdoor area in front of the halls, where the Japanese artist Yoko Ono has created the large art installation Wish Tree Garden and the Danish-Norwegian art and design duo Pettersen & Hein have designed thirteen coloured concrete benches. Both works were designed specifically for CC and will become a permanent part of the harbour area for eighteen months.

On the day there will be speeches, music etc.

Final programme to follow.

Admission to the event is free.
